Who Benefits
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Arizona, the Verde Valley Sanctuary for battered women and children and the Sedona Community Foundation which provides support and grants to local nonprofit organizations are the three lead charities that will benefit from Sedona Miracle 2007.
Sharing a Percent of Proceeds Among Non-Profits (NPOs)
Any 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (NPO) can share in the event proceeds. How? By registering with the Sedona Community Foundation first and then helping with the sales of golf balls for the two Helicopter Ball Drops, sales of raffle tickets and helping to secure sponsors. 20% of the event’s net proceeds will be distributed to participating NPOs based on their individual sales performance. It’s a great way to bring more funds into your organization by inviting your members and encouraging friends to buy balls and raffle tickets on behalf of your NPO. It’s all done online and the steps are easy. To learn more click here.
Main Beneficiaries
Boys and Girls Club of Northern Arizona
The proceeds from the 2006 Miracle at
Seven Canyons helped to serve over
1600 youth throughout the year at the
Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Arizona (BGCNA). These funds helped provide outstanding programs including the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Fine Arts Programs, digital arts, and even Tango dancing – where their fancy steps were debuted at their very own art exhibit. In addition, the Sedona Child Development Center opened August 30th, and is now serving over 30 children.

Because of last year’s successful philanthropic event, funds have provided scholarships for the many families and youth that may not be able to afford BGCNA programs. The funds from Sedona Miracle 2007 have kept fees down and allowed for the hiring of motivated staff to run many of the programs. www.apositiveplace.org
Verde Valley Sanctuary
A new roof and the establishment of an endowment fund came directly from the Miracle at Seven Canyons fundraiser last year. The endowment fund opens many more doors for new funding sources.
Verde Valley Sanctuary (VVS) was established in 1993 to decrease domestic violence in the community through education and advocacy, to offer shelter to women and their children, and to enhance self-determination and the right of all persons to live without fear, abuse, or oppression. VVS provides emergency shelter, crisis intervention, childcare and child therapy, legal advocacy, Hispanic outreach and translation, youth outreach, and counseling to women and children who have experienced domestic violence. Verde Valley Sanctuary serves domestic violence victims in towns and rural areas of the Verde Valley, which includes the Yavapai-Apache and Navajo Reservations.

Sedona Community Foundation

The Sedona Community Foundation (SCF) bridges vital community needs with the philanthropic interests and goals of the donor. It has been doing so for over 10 years by investing in endowed funds where individuals maximize their gifts, leaving a legacy for future generations.
From the Miracle at Seven Canyons fundraising event in 2006 a special fund has been established called the Miracle Leadership Development Fund that will help area non-profits with core funding needs like administrative costs, training, and technical assistance.
As of 2007, there are 21 funds in SCF’s family of funds, totaling over $5,000,000 in assets. SCF derives significant benefits organizationally and financially from its partner affiliation with the Arizona Community Foundation (ACF). www.azfoundation.org
