Members of Seven Canyons, a private golf resort community in Sedona, have played an active role in local philanthropy for the last several years.

Two years ago at the beautiful Seven Canyons championship course, two golf tournaments raised $195,000 for local non-profits, just slightly less than the largest fundraiser in Northern Arizona history. Last year the Miracle at Seven Canyons fundraiser brought in a staggering $730,000 through a dramatic helicopter golf ball drop, golf tournaments, silent and live auctions, and general fundraising, including the generosity of two major donors.

Nearly 10 ,000 golf balls poured out of the belly of a Maverick helicopter at last September’s event, marking the largest golf ball drop in the world. A 2006 Lexus Hybrid SUV went to the happy winner of last year’s Ball Drop.

Raising the bar once again, Sedona Miracle 2007 co-chairs - all Seven Canyons members - determined to expand and broaden philanthropic participation in Sedona and have set this year’s fundraising goal at $1,000,000 with all funds flowing through a special Sedona Miracle account held by the 501 c3 designated Boys and Girls Clubs of Northern Arizona IRS Non-Profit Tax Status Letter

To heighten excitement and community participation many new features have been added including two ball drops using 4 holes each with two grand prizes: a Toyota Camry Hybrid and a Toyota Highlander Hybrid, four luxury Sedona Resort week stays and other premium prizes. Charity golf events at both the exclusive Seven Canyons and Oakcreek Golf Course, online raffles, with silent and live auctions to round out Sedona Miracle 2007.

A fundraiser of this magnitude can be accomplished only through the outstanding efforts of dozens of dedicated volunteers from all over the community, working hundreds of hours.

Leading the way are the three co-chairs of this year’s Sedona Miracle 2007 and the Steering Committee Members from the Sedona Community. Co-chairs are listed with their areas of responsibility.

ROB ARBORGAST, a Sedona entrepreneur and business owner since 1992, has been a member of Seven Canyons since 2004. Rob played a key role in retail golf ball sales and managing the Lexus SUV high visibility locations last year. This year Rob will oversee the charity golf events, one at Oakcreek Country Club and the other at Seven Canyons. Rob is also managing many of the event-related activities at Oakcreek Country Club including the two Ball Drops. Heading up: Charity Golf Events, Ball Drops, Sponsors.
